Central to the identity and purpose of Saint David's is a three-fold movement for what it means to be a Christian. Life with the Triune God is a spiritual journey that one travels through in stages, similar to how one moves from childhood into adolescence and later into adulthood. We are first welcomed into the family of God through Baptism; here we are anointed by the Holy Spirit. We are then shaped and formed into the image of His Son, Jesus Christ, by God's Holy Word and the Holy Eucharist. Finally, we are sent into the world as agents of God's service, mercy, and love by the rite of Confirmation.

OUR VALUES

SCRIPTURE

We are rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, revealed to us in Holy Scripture,

the primary authority over our lives in matters of life and faith.

SACRAMENTS

We celebrate the Holy Sacraments of Baptism and the Eucharist,

as they are witnesses and effectual signs of God's good will and grace towards us, to strengthen and confirm our faith in Him.

TRADITION

We revere the ancient creeds and liturgical practices of the Church,

giving us an identity with the past and a vision for the future.

PRAYER

We treasure the spiritual discipline of prayer, as it opens us into the presence of God, giving us access to experience His goodness, power and glory.

COMMUNITY

As the Body of Christ, adopted and made one through Baptism,

we are united and grounded in God’s love, living for the sake of others.

KINGDOM PURPOSE

God has made us for a purpose. As agents of reconciliation, we seek to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus—that is, to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Equally, we seek to fulfill the Great Commandment of Jesus—that is, to love God with our entire being and to love our neighbors as ourselves. By fulfilling this two-fold mission, we are faithfully living out our call as Kingdom people—that is, proclaiming, embodying and demonstrating the rule and reign of God with our city.
