FROM THE RECTOR
Please allow me to be the first one to welcome you to St. David’s. We are very conscious of the fact that one of the reasons for which we exist is to serve you and we commit ourselves to such a calling. As you search through this site you will become fairly familiar with our Church and our ministries, but the true spirit and personality of St. David’s can only be known and felt as you visit our Church. You will find some of the friendliest and most committed people anywhere. You will feel and know the love of God among our members, so we invite you to come and worship with us. In the mean time, please let us know how we might serve you. If you have questions about any of our ministries or the Scriptures or the Christian faith, please do not hesitate to ask us. We want to be available to you. Thank you for visiting our church through this site. We pray the Lord’s blessings upon you.
This past June, Fr. Jose announced that our Vestry had called the Rev. Dcn. Astor Yelangueuzian to the position of Rector upon his retirement at the end of 2020. Prior to that transition, Dcn. Astor will serve alongside Fr. Jose as our Assistant Rector.
As a 30-year resident of Los Angeles, Dcn. Astor has a great
love for this city and is extremely passionate about sharing the good news of
Jesus with his community. Soon after completing his ThM degree in New Testament
studies from Princeton Theological Seminary, he took up Holy Orders and was
ordained to the Deaconate in 2018, with plans of being consecrated
to the Priesthood sometime this year. He and his lovely wife, Narineh, are the blessed parents of two sons, Sebastian and John-Paul.
On Sunday, August 2, Dcn. Astor shared his testimony during our 10am Livestream Worship Service. (You can watch Dcn. Astor's testimony Video HERE or listen to the Audio HERE.) We continue to extend a warm welcome to the Yelangueuzian family and look forward to hearing more from Dcn. Astor in the coming weeks!
